Freedom Farm Ohio exists to provide members of the armed forces and their families a place of refuge with opportunities to experience the benefits of agriculture and art. Military members and veterans have unique challenges and pressures that only another service member can understand. Freedom Farm Ohio is a place created by veterans for veterans.

Loss of identity, mental and emotional struggles, traumatic memories, physical limitations can be just a few of the impacts of experiences within military life and life after retirement or separation. The farm is meant to offer compassion and a positive outlet, a place to turn to instead of coping in harmful ways. You have given selfless service to our country; we thank you and want to offer you a place to take a step away from typical life in a nurturing environment.

We have spent decades in military life and service. The transient lifestyle, deployments, community, camaraderie, sacrifice, and commitment are aspects that only someone connected to the military can understand. Through those years of service, we found that nurturing gardens and enjoying creativity eased the stresses of life. We found that connecting with other veterans and their families gives us a sense of connection, purpose, and understanding.

Freedom Farm Ohio is a 10-acre nonprofit farm located in Mt. Sterling, Ohio. The mission of the farm is to offer a peaceful place for veterans and their families to get muddy in the earth with gardening and food production or clay pottery or to just be still. All of these activities support lessening stress, processing emotions, and feeling supported. These are activities that we have found helpful in our lives with the pressures and challenges of military life, and we invite you into this space to join with us in a haven of healing. This is a special place.

Veterans and their families are our special guests at the farm, but no one is turned away. All are welcome whether as guests or as volunteers.
